A number of patients in the South West Acute Hospital had to be moved to another part of the building this morning when ceiling tiles in a ward corridor came down as a result of a burst pipe.
A spokesperson for the Western Health and Social Care Trust (Western Trust) said the incident occurred today in the early hours of this morning and the six patients were moved as a precaution. No-one was harmed during the incident.
"There is no impact on services and the hospital remains fully operational.
"The Trust has asked the Northern Ireland Health Group and their facility management provider; Interserve to carry out an urgent investigation," the spokesperson added.
